- 01Closing date for Applications: 10 April 2026 Commencement date: 1 May 2026 Salary: R 24 974.25/month Location: Hybrid (Work at the FAMSA Observatory Office and from Home) You will need a dedicated quiet workspace at home and stable internet connection. Our client, FAMSA Western Cape, seeks to employ a Clinical Manager (Social Work) based at the Observatory office. IMPORTANT: Only applications with the Online Application Form will be accepted. Job Description: The Clinical Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and Management Team to ensure the best practice of clinical staff at FAMSA Western Cape by means of regular supervision; evaluation and development of clinical staff and services. They are responsible for overall planning, organising, coordinating and management of professional and non-professional clinical and training/developmental services of the organisation. Further, they are responsible for the continual improvement and development of clinical services to ensure that FAMSA Western Cape’s services are of the highest standard. Roles and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): Supervision/consultation, Performance Management and Staff Development: • Supervision of assigned supervisees, sessional workers, interns/volunteers, intake and receptionists. • Three months evaluations of newly appointed supervisees. • Performance Appraisals and Development of supervisees. • Identify the need for groups. • Overseeing/development of: Perpetrators group Survivors of Domestic Violence Divorce support group Mediation group • Regular individual mentoring. • Monitoring, maintaining and improving clinical services and standards. • Identify clinical training needs/gaps. Mentoring when required: • Clinical mentoring and development of staff as appropriate. Public Relations: • Networking / community liaison • Lobbying and Advocacy • Talks: radio, community, churches etc. • Interviews with journalists Marketing • Contributing to and evaluating all FAMSA’s clinical services leaflet/marketing/material/campaigns when required /possible (ad-hoc). • Marketing of professional clinical services. Special Projects • As appropriate Fundraising • Involvement and Motivating Clinical Team: • Recognising/Participating in fundraising initiatives where relevant. • Identifying potential funding partnerships/projects. Research: • Doing and staying abreast of research related professional clinical services. • Coordinating external research requests. Counselling: • Provide counselling services where/when required. Personal Training & development: • Attend meetings as and when required. • Attend relevant FAMtrac training courses as discussed with the supervisor • Attend appropriate training courses offered by FAMSA or other institutions (depending on funding). • Ad – hoc external trainings as negotiated with the supervisor. • Strategic Staff development opportunities/groups/sessions etc. • Keeping abreast of best practices and current trends in social work, counselling and relevant clinical services. Administration: • Updating clinical forms, circulars and memorandums. • Review clinical policies and suggest updates. • Report writing and correspondence. • Monitoring and Evaluation. • Minutes of Meetings where appropriate. • Required statistics • Administer allocated file/s on FAMSA’s cloud system. • Any other recordings as appropriate. Attending Meetings: • Strategic /Management Team meetings. • Staff Meeting • Consultation with the Director. • Stakeholder and other meetings on behalf of FAMSA. • Clinical meetings Qualifications and Requirements: Educational Qualification: • A Master’s Degree (NQF Level 9) in Social Work. • Social Work degree (NQF level 8) with relevant experience and training may also be considered. • Completion of an appropriate Social Work Supervision course. Professional Experience: • 8 -10 years of Social Work experience in a diverse organisation, with a proven track record of effectively leading and managing people. • 5 years’ experience as a Social Work Supervisor • Experience in the non-profit sector is preferred, especially with organisations focused on social services, community welfare, or related fields. Professional Registration: • Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP). • Proof of completion of a relevant Social Work Supervisor course. Skills and Competencies: • Financial Management: Proven ability to develop and manage budgets, ensure financial accountability, and produce financial reports. • Administration and Management: Strong leadership and management abilities, co-ordination, organising and administrative skills • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at various levels, in the organisation and externally. • Time Management: Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks in a high-demand environment. • Operational Skills: Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements applicable to non-profit organisations within the social work sector. • Problem-solving: Ability to take initiative and develop creative solutions to challenges faced, mobilising relevant team members. Additional Requirements: • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transport. • Willingness to travel to the various FAMSA Western Cape offices as needed. • Proficiency in English is required; fluency in Afrikaans and/or IsiXhosa will be an advantage. • Strong proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with office software and relevant applications. • Attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
